2015年、デザイナーであり企業家でもあるエリザベス・ストレイ・ペダーセンは、ノルウェー・オスロで60年以上もの歴史を持つアウターウェア工場を買収し、独自のコレクション『Elisabeth Stray Pedersen』をスタートした。以来、工場の象徴的なアイテムであるノルウェー産ウールのブランケットコートを進化させ続け、現在では、商品アイテムの幅を広げ、国内外へ販売を拡大。

エリザベス本人はノルウェーや国外のアパレル・テキスタイル業界でマーケティングやデザイン、モノづくりの経験を積んだ後、サステナブルなビジネスモデルとローカルプロダクトへの強い興味から、現地の有名な工場を買収することを決意。工場の経営と既存ブランドの『Lilunn』の展開に加え、より若い層をターゲットとした洗練されたコンテンポラリーブランドを自らの名前を冠して立ち上げた。2019年、エリザベスはデザイン＆アーキテクチャー・ノルウェー(DogA)より権威あるデザイン賞「ヤコブスプリセン」を受賞すると、VOGUE JAPANをはじめ、MONOCLE、VOGUE ITALIA、DANSK MAGAZINEなど様々な媒体で特集を組まれた。

『Elisabeth Stray Pedersen』は、ノルウェー・ゴル地方の高原に放牧された羊から取れた上質なラムウールやドブレ山脈にあるリボンメーカー、ロムスダレンの山岳地帯の糸メーカーなど、選び抜かれた地元の職人たちと連携し、トレンドを超越し地域に根差したモノづくりを目指す。

In 2015 designer and entrepreneur Elisabeth Stray Pedersen took over a 65-year-old outerwear factory situated in Oslo. The brand Elisabeth Stray Pedersen was born. Ever since, the brand has continued evolving the factories signature style, iconic blanket coats in Norwegian lambswool. Today it has expanded with new product categories and sell in Scandinavia and Japan. 

Stray Pedersen has experience from research, design and development from Norwegian and international fashion- and textile industry. Her interest in sustainable business models and local production was fundamental for choosing to take over a renowned production facility. In addition to developing the studio factory and their brand Lillunn, she started the elevated contemporary brand under her own name with the aim to reach a younger contemporary costumer group. In 2019 Stray Pedersen received the prestigious design award by Design and Architecture Norway (DogA), «Jacobsprisen", for her work and the brand have been featured in Japanese Vogue, Monocle, Italian Vogue and DANSK Magazine amongst others. 

Elisabeth Stray Pedersen aims to transcend trends and design locally produced high end clothes. We use fine Norwegian lambswool from sheep walking freely in the highlands around Gol in Norway and collaborate with a selection of local crafts guilds from Norway like their ribbon maker by the mountains of Dovre and the thread maker by the mountains of Romsdalen.
